Vision

EAPHM is to be the platform for:

• Promoting a competitive and sustainable European pig production by creating and further developing common guidelines and legislation for porcine health management in Europe in order to optimize professional standards leading to the highest possible animal health status for improving food safety, public health and animal welfare in pig and pork production.
• Improving and standardizing the undergraduate and post-graduate education, and the life-long learning in the area of porcine health management in Europe.
• Becoming the opinion leader throughout Europe in the field of porcine health management.

Mission

EAPHM is to:

• Bring together all European veterinarians and related professionals involved in porcine health management in one organization.
• Represent the interests of the EAPHM members in legislative and executive bodies of the EU (ideally in cooperation with FVE).
• Organize a standardized post-graduate education and life-long learning for veterinarians specializing in porcine health management in cooperation with the ECPHM.
• Organize the Annual European Symposium on Porcine Health Management (ESPHM) in co-operation with ECPHM.
• Organize meetings, workshops, discussion forums, and other appropriate platforms for exchanging cutting-edge knowledge in the area of PHM
• Work closely together with “sister” organizations such as AASV, ABRAVES, APVS, IPVS as well as with European national and related pig societies
• To promote the relationship between the veterinary profession, swine practitioners, the swine industry, and the public.
• To promote understanding and goodwill among its members.
• To cooperate with veterinary and agricultural organizations and regulatory agencies.
